Education makes you dangerous.
Training solidifies your response.
Carry Responsibly with Tactical Firearms Training.
What does it mean to Conceal Carry a firearm in a public space?
A lot of people think that Concealed Carry is just buying a gun, strapping it to you, and walking around with it, but there is SO much more to being safe and proficient with a handgun.
A few good question to ask yourself are:
Can you access your firearm quickly and safely?
Can you acquire your target quickly and get rounds on that target quickly?
Can you hit a target accurately at 7yards? or 10? 15? how about 40?
Can you make the decision to end the life of an attacker under extreme pressure?
These questions are really only answered with training.
Most people take their Concealed Carry course, apply for it through their Sheriff’s department, and never look back. But here at Tactical Firearms Training, that’s really just the first step. Knowledge is fantastic, but without training and application it is effectively useless under stress and pressure.
Your Prefrontal Cortex (the decision making part of the brain) shuts down under stress. So does your ability to hear (called Auditory Exclusion). And people, especially a jury, will try to use logic and hindsight to judge you. They will take days, weeks, or months to break down ‘how you should have responded’ when you only had seconds.
That’s why we teach, train, and stress test your abilities. From making a decision to defend yourself, to drawing, firing, and dealing with the aftermath, we are here to help.
Learn how to carry in public discretely, legally, and make every room you enter safer!
It helps all of us when you’re well trained.
Concealed Carry Training Courses
Taking all of our courses will clearly give you the best training to defend yourself, but not everyone has the time or the money!
Below are the courses that we HIGHLY recommend to feel safe and proficient in carrying your firearm in public.
Live Fire Handgun and CCW
$99 – 4hr session
During this course you will learn the law around self defense and legally carrying a firearm in Colorado. You will also learn about the laws regarding safe storage and can ask any questions pertaining to gun laws in Colorado. You will learn and be tested on firearm safety and will be challenged on live fire drills appropriate to your skill level. Upon completion of this class, you will receive a certificate to apply for your Concealed Carry Permit.
-
No. The live fire drills are to challenge you and give you drills to practice on your own to improve your shooting skills. All you need to pass the class is to demonstrate firearm safety on the shooting range. Follow the 4 rules and you’ll be fine!
-
We recommend bringing a pistol and 150 rounds of ammunition to match. If you don’t have a gun, you can borrow one, but you will need 150 rounds of 9mm ammo. There is NO AMMO ALLOWED in the classrooms, so please make sure your gun and mags are unloaded.
Outside the Home Defense (Dry Fire)
$20-$50 — 4hr sessions
This course is designed for beginner to advanced shooters. You should have at least been to a range and fired a gun before taking this class. Done in the studio with lasers and airsoft, we will cover the law on firearms outside the home and lawful concealed carry, we will train on how to draw from a holster safely and quickly, communicate with a gun drawn, and train on shoot/don’t shoot scenarios. You will be put through multiple airsoft shooting scenarios to test your ability to access and draw your weapon, test your ability to make a decision to shoot or not, and to see how well you adhere to the law.
-
We will bring targets, set up the range (if we need to), and have drills prepared. You will need to pay range fees and bring your guns and ammo for whatever the training is for that day.
Range Days and Action Bays
$99 – 4hr session
We love shooting! And we like having friends along with us!
Once you have done the required courses and have shown that you are safe with training the skills we are working on, we invite our students to ranges and action bays around the state.
From your normal 25 yard inside range, to moving, shooting, drawing from holster, acquiring targets and moving around them all while shooting, and working on rifle to pistol transitions in action bays, we train it all!
-
We recommend bringing a pistol cambered in 9mm or 45 and a holster to match. If you don’t have a pistol or holster, you can borrow one, but we really encourage you to train with your own equipment. NO AMMO ALLOWED in the studio.
Education makes you dangerous.
Not the gun, the bullets, or any other tool.
You, your training, and your knowledge are what prepares you.
